MachineGames was established in 2009 by former founding members of Starbreeze Studios and acquired by ZeniMax Media in 2010. Located in Uppsala, Sweden, MachineGames is a studio comprised of a seasoned group of developers recognized for their work creating story-driven games. Their first title, the critically-acclaimed action-adventure shooter, Wolfenstein: The New Order, is a reimagining of the franchise widely credited for helping establish the first-person shooter genre. Launched in May 2014, the game has garnered numerous ‘Game of the Year’ and ‘Shooter of the Year’ awards and nominations from media outlets worldwide.

Position

MachineGames, part of the ZeniMax Media family, is looking for an experienced UI & UX designer to join our team. You will work closely with the art director and game designers to conceptualize, mock-up and apply UI design across many different systems in our games. You will be heavily involved in evaluating and improving usability across the designs chosen for the games.

Our studio is located in central Uppsala, Sweden which is a small and vibrant city 30 minutes north of the capital Stockholm. It has a historical heritage reaching back to pre-medieval times.

This is a permanent position starting as soon as possible. We will support your relocation and/or application for work permit if you have are not an EU citizen and/or not currently residing in Sweden.

Responsibilities

• Create game menus and HUD elements 
• Graphic design, logos, and iconography
• Motion graphics
• Collaborate with game designers to create wireframes and interactive prototypes
• Create assets and implement UI in the engine

Your qualification

• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing functional and elegant user interfaces from concept to completion
• Examples of current and past work demonstrating a strong understanding of usability and composition
• Experience with Motion graphics
• Demonstration of significant UI contribution to a shipped videogame title
• Self-motivated and able to take feedback
• Excellent team player with a strong work ethic and a cooperative attitude

Will be a plus

• Previous years of experience in UI design in the video game industry
• Experience with a 3D package
• Fluent in Actionscript
• Familiarity with Bethesda Software games, characters, brands, and universes
• Passion for games and gaming
