About Corsearch

We are part of a fast-growing French AI startup recently acquired by Corsearch — specializing in cutting-edge image intelligence technology for brand protection and online content monitoring. Our proprietary AI-powered reverse image search engine is used by some of the world’s most iconic luxury brands, leading FMCG companies, and global marketplaces to combat fraud, counterfeiting, and misuse of intellectual property at scale.

We are currently scaling the platform 30x — increasing the volume of data, the number of ML models, and the complexity of use cases — as we integrate and evolve the product within Corsearch’s global ecosystem.

Position

As a Python Backend Scaling Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in upscaling our data processing pipelines and databases to accommodate a 30x scale-up of our business within the next 6 months. Collaborating with Corsearch’s global team of engineers and brand protection experts, you’ll help enable innovation in brand protection and online content monitoring, unlocking advanced technology solutions for a large number of new and existing clients.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Optimize backend performance: Refactor and tune Python-based data processing pipelines for scalability and efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks: Analyze performance issues using tools like flamegraphs and OTEL traces; propose and implement architectural improvements.
• Database optimization: Improve PostgreSQL performance by analyzing queries, modifying structures, and enhancing indexing strategies.
• Support infrastructure evolution: Participate in projects such as migrating OLAP workloads from PostgreSQL to ClickHouse and similar transformations.
• Ensure stability: Debug and resolve backend and data-related issues to ensure the platform runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your qualification

• Strong experience with Python, with a focus on writing efficient, scalable backend code.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL: query analysis, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with profiling and tracing tools (e.g., flamegraphs, OTEL traces) to identify performance issues.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a distributed global team.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Will be a plus

• Experience with Docker, Terraform, and AWS.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse or similar columnar databases.
• Exposure to large-scale data processing and migration projects.
