Position

An American-based company is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer. This team has developed a patented Secure BYO-PC technology that enables secure remote work on any unmanaged or personal computer — without the high cost or complexity of VDI. A secure enclave is installed on the user’s device, where work apps run locally, isolated from personal activity and protected by encryption and access controls. Visually marked by the Blue Border™, the enclave keeps company data safe while allowing employees to use their preferred devices. Trusted by 700+ organizations in finance and insurance to meet FINRA, SEC, NAIC, and SOC 2 standards.

What You Will Do:

You will be a member of the team responsible for core backend architecture decisions and ensuring workflow, especially related to backup solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include participating in the adoption, monitoring, and support of new features, backup technologies, and other technologies. You will also help your team in other areas, detailed below. As a part of this you will:

• Maintain IT systems management tools used by the team.
• Create and roll out new technical solutions through the dev/qa/prod pipeline.
• Remediate and mitigate vulnerabilities in a variety of technical products.
• Communicate with third party technical support if needed.
• Work with other team members as an on-call engineer 24/7 based on the flexible schedule.
• Take part in NOC monitoring shifts daily.
• Automate the tasks.
• You will document all changes within our Change Management process and Confluence.
• Track projects in Jira.
• You will undergo regular security training.
• Implement comprehensive automation strategies across various IT processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Automate system management tasks using Ansible, PowerShell, and Python.
• Identify opportunities for automation in existing workflows to improve operational efficiency.
• Working hours are 9am-6pm local time, Monday to Friday. On-call shifts covering weekends may also be required.

Your qualification

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer with strong automation skills.

Operating Systems:

• Good knowledge of server platforms: Microsoft Windows and Linux.

Active Directory & Networking:

• Proficient in Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.

Database Management:

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server maintenance and backup strategies.

Email Systems:

• Familiarity with Exchange on-premises and Office 365.

Monitoring Systems:

• Understanding of monitoring systems (e.g., SCOM, Prometheus).

Scripting & Automation:

• Ansible scripting for system management automation.

Backup Tools:

• Expertise in open-source backup tools.

Security Practices:

• Strong understanding of security best practices.

Troubleshooting:

• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions.

Clustering & Cloud Services:

• Experience with Windows Failover Clustering. 
• Some experience with Amazon Web Services: EC2, IAM, Config, CloudWatch, CloudFormation.

Virtualization & Remote Applications:

• Familiarity with Citrix XenApp (Citrix Virtual Apps) for delivering remote applications.
• Experience in managing remote application delivery to users via Citrix XenApp, ensuring secure access to centralized applications from various devices.
• Understanding of application publishing, user access management, and optimizing performance for remote app users.

Version Control:

• Experience with Git, TFS, and version-controlled configurations
