Senior Software Engineer (Data Platform - Python)

About Kaia

Kaia set out in 2016 with the mission to make effective, evidence-based therapies available to patients who suffer from chronic diseases. As back pain is the number one cause of disability worldwide with over 1 billion affected people, we built our first product, a clinically-proven mind-body therapy app, to help people with back pain.

Position

• Take over the development lead and product ownership of our data platform
• Build out and maintain our data processing pipeline (that can handle terabyte scale video data and millions of images every day)
• Build user friendly image and video annotation tools and custom data(set) management tools in Django
• Work on data strategy and take ownership of quality and accessibility of our main ML training datasets
• Work closely with Core Machine Learning team and DevOps team

Your qualification

• Deep technical knowledge including in Python
• Thorough understanding of machine learning concepts
• Experience with modelling distributed data processing and storage systems
• Strong software architecture skills and ability to base engineering decisions on product vision
• Sound knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and software engineering best practices
• Strong engineering background, preferably with academic training in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Will be a plus

• Django and Angular or any other JS MVC framework
• Initial practical experience with Machine Learning
• Practical experience deploying services on AWS; experience with Serverless, AWS DynamoDB, AWS Lambda
• Experience in managing, analyzing, and processing large scale datasets
