Position
Our hiring partner, based in Toronto, is leading the technology revolution in the Canadian commercial insurance industry by making it easy, quick, and affordable for startups, self-employed professionals, contractors, and small businesses to get insured.
They are looking for a Senior Test Automation Developer in Brazil and Colombia to join their The Core team, which is responsible for the engine driving the company’s key goals, such as adding more relevant insurance products with great prices on their website and delivering relevant insurance documents to customers with ease.
You will provide automated testing capabilities for new and existing software systems within the team’s domain and maintain the team’s existing architecture and infrastructure to integrate automated tests into the team’s deployment pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain system test automation architecture and infrastructure
- Design and implement automated test cases
- Design and evolve quality practices to ensure quality in non-functional requirements like Performance, Security and Accessibility
- Define and communicate quality strategies and requirements to the broader team, group, and department
- Investigate defects and report via established communication channels and processes
- Monitor system health through automated testing
- Continuously increase automated test coverage and enhance the test automation framework
- Be an advocate for quality and test automation practices among the dev team
- Assist with manual testing tasks when necessary
Your qualification
- 3+ years of experience in Test Automation and Quality Assurance
- University degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational or academic program (preferably in Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
- Intermediate-level experience in Javascript is a must in this role
- Experience with at least one testing framework: cypress, selenium, or other testing frameworks
- Experience working with Jest and Mocha; need to have subject matter expertise with one of these
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Comfortable writing both API and front-end tests
- Track record of showcasing finding things to test before being told or before a bug
- Track record of successful troubleshooting and debugging
- A good foundation in time management and prioritization
- Communication skills to be able to share test frameworks implemented to the team members in an elaborate manner and answer any questions related to them
- Experience with technical mentorship to help other team members grow
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Typescript
- Jest experience is preferred over Mocha
- Previous experience in working with wedriver.io
- Previous experience in working with BrowserStack
- Experience in Salesforce
