The Friends Committee on National Legislation lobbies Congress and the administration to advance peace, justice, opportunity, and environmental stewardship. Founded in 1943 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), FCNL fields an expert team of lobbyists on Capitol Hill and works with a grassroots network of tens of thousands of people across the country to advance policies and priorities established by our governing General Committee. FCNL is a nonpartisan organization that seeks to live our values of integrity, simplicity, and peace as we build relationships across political divides to move policies forward.
The FCNL IT Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the current technology infrastructure of FCNL and planning its future IT needs. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting internal technical operations including systems and services, such as the network infrastructure, internet, security, desktops, servers, help desk, telephone systems, audio-visual, and other network services provided to all FCNL staff.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of IT Operations and works closely with staff who are heavily involved in data collection and output to help determine the best way to meet the organization’s technology needs. The role will support FCNL-specific data systems (i.e. Raiser’s Edge/Crystal Reports), provide maintenance for the hardware/software infrastructure and assist with the implementation of new solutions either individually or with the assistance of the Senior Manager, IT Operations. Working closely with IT consultants and other vendors, the IT Network Administrator will help enhance FCNL’s current Microsoft 365 cloud-based business environment, as well as train staff in its use, as well as that of other technologies as needed.
Due to the nature of the position, occasional evening and weekend work is expected. This position is expected to be mostly in the office with the option for regular telework and may require local travel to support staff within D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
