Position

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Developer Tools team and ensure that our developers have the best-in-class infrastructure and tooling needed for us to maximize our productivity! This is a unique opportunity to join a small, experienced team and take on a significant role in Nextdoor’s development.

Our team works in a continuous deployment environment which relies heavily on carefully orchestrated build, test, and deployment systems - this allows our developers to push code dozens of times a day to our production systems with confidence. Working between desktop and cloud development, you will make extensive use of Docker to ensure that our development, testing, and production environments are as similar as possible in configuration and code.

Your qualification

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
• Proficient in one or more dynamic scripting languages (Python preferred, Ruby, Perl, Bash)
• Experience working with Go or Java strongly preferred
• Cloud computing experience in AWS strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of software configuration management process from development to testing to deployment
• Very strong attention to detail
• Experience troubleshooting distributed architecture
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment
• Strong desire to learn about new technologies and systems
• Want to work in San Francisco - we can help you relocate if necessary
