Fat Llama's Technology

Technology is at the heart of everything we do at Fat Llama, allowing us to solve a problem that has never been solved before. Our whole team gets a say in the product & tech roadmap, and our engineering team takes pride in writing, testing and deploying new features on a daily basis.

The Fat Llama mobile app is a vital part of our product, and an increasing proportion of users are using it for managing their rentals and communicating with other users. Going forward a key part of our product strategy is to shift our focus to mobile, so we need someone to lead the charge for our mobile build. Your role will take the lead in making our app world-class in terms of UX and performance. This will include building native modules in Java/Kotlin and Swift, and pushing the boundaries of React Native's functionality to build an incredible mobile experience.

Our team takes pride in owning our work truly end-to-end. We’re looking for people who can plan, experiment, build, test, deploy, measure and iterate before calling it done. As a small team, we try and build on the shoulders of giants, which means that you’ll often find us working with the latest and greatest technologies.

Your qualification

• You want to work in a team that values teamwork, learning, and collaboration
• You have experience building iOS and/or Android apps from scratch
• You have experience working with React Native in production
• You are familiar working with and building Native Modules in React Native
• You have at least 5 years of industry experience
• Love writing clean, elegant code that other people can read
• You have a good understanding of Javascript (good and bad parts) and its ecosystem
• Take pride in your fastidious approach to testing your code
