About Blendle

Blendle is the biggest platform of premium journalism in the Netherlands.

Blendle is basically an iTunes for Dutch newspapers, an app and a website where readers can buy articles.

Blendle fulfils an important task Journalism is a vital component of any society, but even the greatest newspapers and magazines continuously show a decrease in sales. Blendle offers a new revenue stream which will help ensure the continuity of great journalism.

Position

We're looking for someone who aces Kotlin. We used to work with Java, but all our new code is written in Kotlin.

But perhaps the most important bit is that you’re smart and eager to learn. We’ve come across developers who didn’t apply at Blendle, just because they didn’t feel like they would be good enough. And most of the times, it turned out they were underestimating themselves.

Additional details

You decide when and where you work. Roland starts his day opening his laptop on a Rotterdam balcony and Jean regularly spends the night talking to himself in our chat program whilst coding. We assume you know what works best for you, so you don’t need us to make the rules. Another example: backend programmer Koen likes to attend our meetings virtually, as he’s in Curaçao (and does a wonderful job there, too).
