For a dutch telco company, we are looking for a network engineer. You will be working on critical networking systems in small team in the area of The Hague. The company is very professional but also has a very good work life balance. Sometimes shifts are needed in evenings / at nigh but this is not often and extra salary is paid for that availability..You are assigned to the Transport team: managing network between our 4 locations and a number of dedicated networks. Caution is advised because the impact is great on these networks, this also makes the role fun!
You will work in the tribe 'Fixed Core' together with about 75 other colleagues and together with 4 other colleagues, he is part of the team. This team is responsible for the operation and innovation of a number of our essential core networks.
The work mainly consists of incident management and change management to keep the networks operational. Automated processes are increasingly used for these network management activities. Knowledge and experience with network automation is therefore an advantage.
We are looking for a candidate with 5 - 10 years work experience in a similar role.
We are looking for a colleague who is proactive, stress resistant, enterprising and independent.
Prepared to run standby shifts and implement changes during service windows (outside working hours, often at night).
Due to the expected long-term commitment and restrictive legislation, we prefer not to work with freelancers for this assignment.
Working from home for the time being, in the future towards 2 days a week at the office in The Hague.
Language is English.
