About eVision

We’re a dynamically growing company, headquartered in The Hague, that creates safety solutions for oil, gas and petrochemical companies. The systems and technologies that we offer are all unique and fit for the future needs and requirements. All our solutions are innovative and consumer-oriented - we do our best to help our clients build the right knowledge about safety and protection, help them analyze all the risks and, in some way, teach them how to prevent accidents during the work process. Being a leading company in the Netherlands, we work with big clients, well-known in the whole world. Shell, BP, Axe, Qatar Petroleum are just a few examples of the clientele we work with, and we work with the best. Our main mission is to give clients the right tools to improve return on investment with minimum risks and maximum safety.

Position

For our customers, mobility means having instant access to critical information in a highly intricate industrial environment. Critical information of the type that can save lives. For that reason, we ask a high degree of quality of our mobile apps: our end users demand high availability, strong security and great accuracy. The mobile apps you will be working on are used by workers in industrial environments and will deliver tailored information from our successful Permit-to-Work system, Permit Vision. As the apps are highly task-oriented, you will ensure the user interface reflects the way the end user prefers to process the information. Your apps will be robust to the point of being able to work off-line for long periods of time.

Your accountabilities are:

  • Working closely with the Product Managers and Visual Designers to develop apps in an iterative way
  • Focusing equally on non-functional and functional aspects
  • Discussing and exploring how information should be presented
  • Working closely with other teams to achieve solid integration with other products
  • Implementing a rich and intuitive task-oriented interface for end users that meet their needs
  • Guarding architecture and adherence to agreed system design principles on evolving platforms
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions with architects and development teams. We value face-to-face communication over resolving discussions through email
  • Innovating constantly, working together with your team to find the best possible solution
  • Work in a fully agile environment, aligning continually with your peers

Your qualification

  • Proven experience developing mobile apps for Android or iOS. Could be obtained from personal side activities
  • Proven experience developing in Xamarin (C#)
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP and how to work with HTTP-based open APIs
  • You have sound programming, analytical and reasoning skills
  • You take pride in writing clean, robust code
  • You’re no stranger to design patterns, both in theory and in practice
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs in terms of technical documentation
  • Ability to format information and present it in a concise, clear and visually stimulating way – such as manuals or API documentation

Will be a plus

  • Understanding of an MDM solution, for mobile app management and deployment
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices —think automation scripts, build maintenance
  • Previous full-stack experience developing software using .Net
  • Knowledge of Git or any other version control tool

What we offer

  • A competitive salary
  • Free access to our company gym
  • Bi-weekly chair massages
  • Company lunch, free fruit and drinks
  • Friday drinks with colleagues
  • Our headquarters are in the heart of The Hague (5 minutes from The Hague Central Station)
  • Fun and outgoing colleagues

Why work with us?

  • Because our product matters to people – it saves lives
  • Because we work with the global leaders in the oil and gas industry – including Shell, BP, and Total
  • Because we are serious and pragmatic about our technology and quality
  • Because the brightest and most professional people, who believe that teams are the key to our continuous success, work with us
  • Because we are fun, multicultural and have a dry, genuine sense of humour
