Position

You are a DevSecOps enthusiast, that is fluent in modern Inter Service Connectivity via Service Mesh. You embrace SaaS wherever adequate and focus on your service users' needs.

Your responsibilities

You work in an internal and geographically distributed team with cultural diversity and interact with other DevOps engineers and product owners. You play a vital role in our agile DevOps team. With your passion for modern networking concepts, you connect both Swisscom's on-prem and internal cloud platform ops infrastructure.

In an agile environment, you are responsible for the implementation and adoption of Service Mesh based on HashiCorp Consul in our company.

As a platform engineer, you embrace Infrastructure as Code to achieve your goals. With your proven expertise in the field of modern Service Integration, you complement the team optimally. This team belongs to the "Shared Enabling and Platform Services" tribe, which is the Shared Service organisation in Swisscom. Thanks to you, our users can stop caring and waiting about traditional network connectivity and start owning their service's secure and efficient exposure surface.

Your qualification

Your daily work centres around Service Mesh and integrates and attaches numerous operations platforms thus its important that you:

• Are fluent in all things Service Mesh, preferably HashiCorp Consul or other general-purpose, distributed Meshes.
• Have a good general knowledge of traditional network concepts
• Have experience with different operations Models such as K8s, Serverless Concepts, and traditional VMs

Besides your focus on Service Mesh, you are open to helping your team with diverse Service Catalog focusing on the Developers' secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC). Knowledge of the following technologies/products is beneficial:

• Secret Management (HashiCorp Vault)
• Artifact Repository (Artifactory)
• VCS (BitBucket)
• Code Quality (SonarQube)

Technology independent skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills to develop quick and sound solutions that resolve complex issues
• Team-oriented, very adaptable, and a flair for continuous improvement
• Very good English, German is a plus
