Position

To improve one of our in-house product teams, we are currently looking for a Ruby Backend Developer for our HQ in Hoofddorp.

Your role and responsibilities

DASH is the tech accelerator of The Works: home to successful international work-brands like YoungCapital, YoungCapital NEXT, StudentJob and Jobbird.com. As an employment agency, we work very differently than you might think. We recruit almost all our candidates via digital channels. Our work help students, graduates, and young professionals find a diverse range of career opportunities. At DASH's R&D department in Hoofddorp, we have a bunch of developers building technological innovations in a data-driven and agile way.

Together, we work on many impressive applications, and we build the vast majority of these ourselves. That includes all the 30 job websites that are part of The Works and their databases. From the YoungCapital app, to our own ATS (Applicant Tracking System), and from machine learning algorithms, to an E-learning environment. Standing still is not an option for us. DASH prioritizes growth and we are never afraid to make a change.

We have big plans for the future and plan on growing our R&D team like crazy. But most importantly, we want to re-architecture our systems to create a core structure so that building new products around them becomes easier. This way we can try new ideas and innovate faster and more efficiently.

And that is where you enter the story. An experienced Ruby developer, looking for a full-time job.

Your qualification

Do you know your way around Ruby? Perfect! We work with it daily. Does an ambitious team with a healthy level of fun sound like music to your ears? And want to help us grow further and achieve our goals? Then this Ruby on rails vacancy is for you. But, before we dive in feet first, let's go over some good-to-knows.

We are looking to hire a Ruby developer who:

• Finished a Bachelor/University level, or has equivalent experience
• Has at least 2 years of experience using Ruby
• Has experience writing Testable Code
• Has experience with ElasticSearch (not required, but a strong plus)
• Feels comfortable dealing with JavaScript occasionally
• Has (some) experience with Micro-services
• Has experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
