EFFECT Photonics develops and delivers highly integrated optical products based on InP (Indium Phosphide) which is the material of choice for creating efficient laser light sources, waveguides, modulators, and photodiodes used in optical communication systems throughout the world.
Extensive development work and European funding has already been invested to develop and refine the processes needed for the integration of multiple optical functions within a single chip.
EFFECT Photonics is recruiting a Firmware Engineer to contribute to the R&D team in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and to support the engineering team in Brixham, UK. The position is fulltime and in our Eindhoven office, which is in the heart of the Brainport region.
The primary domain expertise and focus will be the design, implementation, and verification of reliable C and C++ firmware for highly integrated embedded SoC which provides the main control and communications interface for our products. The processor architectures ARM Cortex or Arm 9xx series processors are tightly integrated with high-performance analog peripherals such as DAC/ADC/PLA and high speed I/O control. The main SoC drives many of the functionalities in EFFECT Photonics high performance integrated photonics technologies so the role allows for a broad interaction with all aspects of module design, semiconductor technology, laser physics, and telecommunications systems.
