Position

WeTransfer is looking for a Data Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of our analytical tools. Some we will source from third parties, others we will build in-house. We are looking for someone who will gladly choose an off the shelf solution when it is the right fit, but is also not afraid to get their hands dirty with code when such a solution does not exist. Currently, our data is stored in MySQL, Postgres, S3 and Redshift, and we’re always looking for new ways and tools to turn that data into actionable insights.

Your qualification

• Experience in dealing with large (>billion rows) amounts of data
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field
• Interest in makings things robust and fault tolerant
• A passion to automate things
• Strong understanding of database design and SQL
• Solid programming skills (Python preferred)
• Hands-on experience with AWS or similar (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc)
• Experience with analytical databases (Redshift or similar)

Will be a plus

• Airflow, Google Analytics, event data processing, Metabase (or other BI tools)
• Experience with integrating email tools such as Sendgrid or Braze
