Werkspot is the free and easy way for homeowners to find and connect with trusted home improvement, maintenance and repair professionals.

Homeowners place a service request for free and we ask them to detail their request with relevant questions. This service request is sent to all professionals in their region who are capable of executing this project. Service professionals can choose if they want to respond to the homeowner, on average they get 3 responses.

The homeowner can view the response and proposal of the service pros but also look at their profile and reviews from former jobs. Based on this they select the service pros they want to work with by sharing their phone number.

Position

Werkspot is looking for an experienced UX Lead who constantly advocates for the voice of the customer and fosters a shared understanding of user centred design within the organization. You will provide leadership and direction for initiatives within your core product teams across the areas of UX/UI design, user research and product copy and content. This role supports one track (consisting of two teams) focused on our active tradesperson experience working on responsive web and native app platforms. You will also play an important role in developing and delivering the company-wide user experience strategy and strengthening the expertise and collaboration of the UX team.

What you’ll be doing

• Build strong relationships and operating methods both inside and outside your core product teams
• Use business metrics, user analytics, customer feedback, technical requirements, competitive analysis and usability best practices to inform decisions and solutions
• Define the UX vision and develop proof of concepts as well as the plans for evolutionary, iterative changes that bring this larger vision to life
• Guide appropriate scale and fidelity of design, copy and research solutions from the simple to complex within your track
• Work hands-on in creating a diverse range of artifacts such as flows, wireframes, layouts, facilitation guides, etc. for your projects
• Lead, manage and mentor UX team members with their work as well as support their career growth
• Uphold operational excellence in processes, methodologies and artifacts

Your qualification

• Creative, open to learning new things and embracing diverse ideas
• 6+ years of experience in UX design or related field - meaning you have attained a significant amount of experience in discovering, defining and designing well-thought through and well-performing user experiences
• Experienced in team leadership
• Strong UX copywriting and editing skills
• Proficient in UX tooling: Figma, copy localization software, UX research testing and repository software
• Effective written communication and presentation skills across all levels of organizational audiences (in English)
