Werkspot is the free and easy way for homeowners to find and connect with trusted home improvement, maintenance and repair professionals.

Homeowners place a service request for free and we ask them to detail their request with relevant questions. This service request is sent to all professionals in their region who are capable of executing this project. Service professionals can choose if they want to respond to the homeowner, on average they get 3 responses.

The homeowner can view the response and proposal of the service pros but also look at their profile and reviews from former jobs. Based on this they select the service pros they want to work with by sharing their phone number.

Position

Werkspot is looking for a strong front-end developer who is able to contribute to creating the technical vision for the front-end of our application and productively collaborate and exchange experience with the team as well as other front-end engineers across the company.

You will have our support to be continuously learning and the autonomy to decide which skills to nurture that will help both you and Werkspot be successful.

Your responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with the team to deliver high-quality solutions for our users
• Contribute to, maintain, and adhere to front-end development quality standards and best practices together with other front-end developers
• Understand data and context that drive decisions
• Be proactive in suggesting improvements, ideas, solutions and offering help
• Bring your opinion to the table and be respectful to others while engaging in productive discussions
• Share your knowledge and experience with others and helping them grow

Your qualification

• 5+ years of experience developing web applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Extensive experience with ReactJS and its best practices
• Experience with NextJS and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of software design principles and front-end application architecture and experience applying it in practice
• Solid engineering capability with an eye towards performance and responsiveness
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Jest, Cypress, Gitlab CI/CD)
• Proficiency with JavaScript tooling, like Webpack/Eslint/etc
• An eye for a good UI/UX and experience with working closely with designers
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Nice to have: experience with GraphQL, back-end development, Design systems, Docker, Kubernetes
