Position

Want to change how the world navigates their cities? We’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to help us design game-changing products that revolutionize city mobility. You’ll be at the core of the creation of next generation connected e-bikes and form a key part of a growing team of Engineers and Designers based in Amsterdam and Taipei.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll report to the Head of R&D and work with the entire R&D team. We’ll expect you to translate high-level product requirements into an implementable distributed software architecture for a modern e-bike.

Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience in leading the development of high-volume complex consumer electronics products and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and highly-innovative environment.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll work with the Design and Electrical Engineering team to define an optimized, high-performance, and cost-effective design
• You’ll work with the Embedded Software team and other internal teams to define and implement all the subsystems that are required in a connected e-bike
• You’ll drive the system design and implementation development, bring-up, integration, continuous maintenance, improvements, and releases
• You’ll participate actively in design and code reviews
• You’ll make sure we perform proper testing, validation, and certification of the overall system

Your qualification

• You have a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (BS, MS preferred)
• You have at least four years of experience in developing and bringing to market complex, consumer electronics products (e.g. battery powered connected mobile devices)
• You have experience in shipping high-volume consumer products
• You have in-depth knowledge of embedded Linux and most technologies used in modern consumer electronic products. Bonus points for Yocto experience
• You have hands-on experience and know-how on every step of the software development and release process for embedded devices 
• You have excellent knowledge of agile software development processes, DevOps, and tools
• You have an excellent understanding of modern embedded operating systems, ARM system architecture
• You have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Will be a plus

• Experience working with Asian design manufacturers and suppliers
• Experience with realtime systems
