Position

Studytube offers some of the most feature-rich learning tools available today. We’re looking for a passionate UX designer that takes pleasure in making complicated things simple by turning features into delightful and powerful experiences.

What you’ll do

Together with your Product Manager, you will synthesise customer needs and opportunities to inform design solutions that balance human experience, business value and technical feasibility.

Generate multiple solutions via customer journeys, prototyping and testing. When necessary, conduct research to understand and validate problems and ideas. Working closely with your Product Manager and Front-end team, zero in on the best ideas and output them as high-fidelity prototypes forming the blueprint of our next great release.

You will also work with and contribute to our blossoming design systems in Figma, Sketch, InVision and Zeroheight.

Who you’ll do it with

As a UX Designer, you’ll join an autonomous and full-stack feature team, collaborating closely with your Product Manager and Front-end Developers to tackle challenging problems in an agile environment.

You’ll also join your fellow design colleagues Vincent, Niki, Riniel and Evie across the board on a variety of design projects like our Design systems, Pattern libraries. DesignOps, team growth and design strategy. Also working closely with Nick the Design Lead and Gerhard, our Chief Product Officer.

Your qualification

You are an independent thinker that truly cares about the end-user. Empathy and analysis are key tools in your belt and you apply them consistently to solve customer needs.

You're a team player who knows how to apply the right approaches, tools, and knowledge to make sure we're building the right solution. You leverage your years of experience, research and metrics, to produce design work that empowers and delights.

Being critical and able to see the big picture is of importance so that you understand what we have now and where we can go in the future. An inquisitive, thoughtful and challenge-driven mind is what we’re after.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of UX Design experience
• You’ve spent time working with Design systems
• Experience in Agile Development, Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design Practices
• You’re available full time (40 hrs per week) 
• A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your approach
• Ability to create, review and deliver world-class designs for our suite of products, including browser native desktop & mobile
• You’re able to clearly and confidently explain your design decisions to colleagues of varying levels of design understanding
• The ability to autonomously and efficiently time & task manage 
• You can make sense of feedback from varying sources and stakeholders to understand and communicate customer needs
