Futurewhiz Media (Squla and WRTS) is the Dutch market leader in online education for children. It's our mission is to prepare children for academic success by fueling their curiosity for knowledge, boosting confidence and cultivating a lifelong love of learning through games and experiences they enjoy in their daily lives.

Squla is an online educational learning platform that helps kids in primary school to learn in a fun way. Squla offers an amazingly fun and educational learning program and features thousands of interactive games, quizzes and activities for all curriculum subjects and more. With over 150.000 users at home and 600.000 at school, Squla is a favorite for kids, parents and teachers.

Position

Squla is looking for Junior, Medior and Senior Full Stack Developers for their teams, because they would like to keep on developing their product and services so more children can benefit from learning with Squla.

As a Full Stack Developer you will get the opportunity to work within an international team of excellent developers. The dev teams are building the Squla platform which offers educational quizzes and real-time multiplayer games to primary school aged children at home and in the classroom.

Our main programming language is Python. If you have experience with Python or are interested in working with Python, this role may be a good fit for you.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end features that contribute to growing the Squla brand, its fun factor and ultimate effectiveness as a learning tool
• Take part in planning sessions
• Test your features and be fully responsible for them when they go live
• Work across different projects and programming languages (mainly Python and HTML5/JavaScript)
• Troubleshoot live issues

Your qualification

• A Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• A thorough knowledge of computer science fundamentals (algorithms and data structures)
• A good foundation in relational database concepts and practices
• The ability to write clean and maintainable code, following standards and guidelines
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• A team player, able to communicate across disciplines
• A good understanding of common design patterns
• Experience writing automated tests

Will be a plus

• AWS or other cloud experience
• HTML5 games
• Unity
