Position

We are looking for a (senior) software engineer who is up for a new exciting challenge - the AWS platform is your home, Typescript is your native language and micro-service architectures are in your heart. The concept of «T-shape» is important to you, so you also have affinity for other languages.

Your primary focus is on designing, developing and supporting various micro-services that run on the public cloud. You ensure that our applications are reliable, scalable, and easy to maintain. You coordinate with the rest of the team while designing and delivering different layers of the application. You practice collaborative problem solving, designing for quality within your team or with seniors from other teams.

What you will be doing:

• With a focus on backend, you collaborate with your cross-functional team on the architecture, technical design and development of applications that deliver value to our customers
• You produce clean, stable, high-quality code — and you expect your teammates to do the same. Writing tests (unit, component, end-to-end …), documentation, and doing code reviews for others are an integral part of the development process
• You contribute to the overall health of our platform through monitoring activities, bug fixing, and by taking care of customer support requests. When on call, you keep track of incoming Pager Duties, and align with your team on the optimal approach to resolving them
• You share your expertise, insights, and failures with your team in order to improve the group’s skill level, and to contribute to the overall improvement of our engineering culture
• You experiment with new technologies and ways of working, helping New10 deliver the right solutions to our customers, fast
• You can manage a reasonable amount of context switches and can delegate as needed
• You are able to lead discussions that align stakeholders and engineering, building bridges between tech and non-tech groups to strengthen our company culture

Requirements

• Extensive experience of Typescript/Node.js and proven knowledge of JavaScript
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, step functions, DynamoDB and so on)
• Familiarity with Serverless Architectures
• Strong experience with designing, managing and working with REST APIs
• Nice to have: Java/Spring, Dutch or SalesForce
