Position

As part of the infrastructure squad, you will focus on engineering innovative, strategic and long term solutions that enable Information Technology’s strategy for the movement of all IT assets to a Cloud-based platform. You will have the necessary technical experience, knowledge, and skills to establish yourself as a domain expert for the Cloud within the organization.

Additionally, you will provide direction, guidance and mentor-ship to staff engaged in the development and application of technology, architectures, frameworks, methodologies, patterns, and best practices.

During the following six month period, your focus within the squad would be to work on:

• Architectural improvements and development on our core projects for AWS infrastructure, using infrastructure as code to help squads to accelerate their journey to the cloud
• Continuously improve our Integration & Deployment pipelines
• Assist squads with infrastructure as code, configuration management and CI/CD
• Coach the members of the squad, as well as other squads and take part in AWS, Hashicorp toolset and CI/CD knowledge sharing
• Take part in the organization wide agile transformation

Responsibilities:

Your job will be to design, implement and improve our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. As a senior member of the infrastructure squad, you will research what the best approach is, which architecture to apply, which frameworks to use and to guide other squad members in the right direction.

• Evaluate new technologies and evolving business requirements
• High-level specialized technical support and consultation to business and IT
• Lead the development of the technical solutions or offering, by translating the business needs into technical requirements
• Identify gaps, strategic impacts, financial impacts and the risk profile in the technical solutions

Your qualification

The ideal candidate is a team player and an experienced and versatile architect/engineer with mature knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Configuration management, Continuous Delivery and has excellent knowledge about the technical design of scalable software components and distributed systems.

• 5 + years eCommerce experience of which at least 1 year experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
• Innovation skills, vision and a solid understanding how to embrace cloud computing resources to build and improve our enterprise infrastructure in AWS
• Fluent in English
• Technical proficiency at delivering (3rd party) cloud-ready applications, such as those built on open standards, network development, monitoring skills and security skills:
  • Up to date with best AWS practices and services offered is a must
  • Experience with creating and improving CI/CD pipelines
  • Preferred experience with the HashiCorp toolset
  • Desired experience with Chef, Ruby and git
  • Desired Coding experience
