Position

grape is a leading digital employee insurer revolutionising the insurance industry. As the Sr. Back-End Engineer at grape, you will play a key role in driving our backend systems, providing technical leadership to the team. You'll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure success.

The role

• You design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance our backend systems, services and APIs
• You provide technical leadership and guidance to your team members
• Continuous collaboration with product managers and other stakeholders

Your qualification

• Proven experience in designing, building and understanding scalable architecture and complex enterprise systems
• You have mentored junior engineers and demonstrated leadership qualities
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Non-Negotiable

• 8+ years engineering experience, of which 2+ years as Staff Engineer or equivalent
• You have mentorship experience, meaning you have the know-how and are able being able to teach know-how
• You have experience in API design

Tech stack:

• Typescript
• GraphQL
• PostgreSQL

Will be a plus

• If you have prior experience in the insurance industry (employee insurance)
