Arrowhead Game Studios is located in Stockholm, Sweden and we are a game developer focusing on creating immersive games for Console and PC. We have a team of ambitious, friendly and fun-loving developers challenging the game industry, while aiming to deliver an entertaining and high quality gaming experience. We’re most known for our co-op games and are the developers behind Magicka, The Showdown Effect, Gauntlet and Helldivers.

Position

The Backend team mainly focuses on features, integrations, scalability and security for our platform to support our next-gen, AAA, 3rd Person Co-Op Shooter game. The team currently consists of two happy coders with a wide skillset. We are taking our game development to the next level and we are looking for an experienced developer to join the team! 

As a Backend Developer / DevOps Engineer your main tasks and responsibilities are:

• Implement online features for our next flagship, AAA game 
• Set up and configure third party applications and databases to facilitate a high volume multiplayer project
• Develop and maintain both stateful and stateless web applications, currently written in C# (.NET core)
• Support our devs with the integration of new backend features
• Create web applications backed by databases such as MS-SQL, or similar

Your qualification

• Experience in the video game development or -publishing industry, in particular as a developer working on the server-stack of multiplayer games 
• Experience with Backend / API Development in C# or Java
• Experience with database technology and maintenance of technologies such as SQL, Key-Value databases, Message Queuing, etc. 
• Experience with micro services architecture
• Experience with hosting platforms such as Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services) or GCP (Google Cloud Platform)

Will be a plus

• Going full stack you will need C++ skills for integrating online features directly in the game
• Experience with HTML, Javascript/TypeScript and CSS

Additional details

Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week. We offer a permanent position and relocation aid for the right candidate.
