Position

Lunik is looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our expanding IT Operations team. The successful candidate will be part of a large global multi-international organization.

Responsibilities:

• Translate company needs into infrastructure solutions that will suit those needs and requirements in terms of performance, resource usage, scalability and resilience. The proposed solutions may include on premises virtualised/bare-metal, cloud or hybrid architectures
• Design and build the solutions from a holistic point of view, ensuring they meet all of the company’s requirements. Ensure the use of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps approaches. Ensure the solutions include automated testing and quality checkings. Work with Architecture and Security teams to ensure the alignment of the solutions
• Work with business and technical teams to continuously evolve the solutions according to the evolution of the requirements
• Conduct Decision Analysis and Resolution (DAR) processes to select tools and solutions in a consistent approach using objective and measurable criteria and involving all relevant stakeholders in the decision process 
• Plan and execute the handover phase to the operational teams, ensuring their full autonomy for using and operating the built solutions. The handover should include: comprehensive documentation, monitoring and alerting assets, training, Standard Operation Procedures, L3 support procedures enablement, etc.
• Work with technical and architecture teams to identify, design, build, handover and evolve automation solutions (scripts, applications, playbooks…) to maximize teams efficiency and business outcomes
• Design, build, handover and evolve Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines both for cloud native and legacy applications. Ensure static and dynamic code quality assurance and security scanning
• Use Agile practices to ensure continuous value delivery and alignment with business and team objectives

Your qualification

• Experience in designing architectures for public and private cloud providers
• Experience in migrating on premises infrastructures solutions to cloud or hybrid platforms
• Proficient in networking and distributed systems architectures
• Wide experience working with public cloud providers
• Experience working with OpenStack platform. (COA certification is a plus)
• Wide experience with centralized logging management tools (Splunk, ELK, Fluentd)
• Proficient in Docker usage and writing custom Dockerfiles 
• Proficient in Kubernetes deployment and administration (CKAD certification is a plus)
• Proficient in using Terraform to apply Infrastructure as Code
• Proficient in using automated configuration management systems: Ansible, Puppet
• Wide Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, ArgoCD, Spinnaker, …) and practices (deployment strategies, microservice pattern, ...)
• Experience in writing automation pipelines in Jenkins or Bamboo
• Experience using Helm and writing custom Helm charts
• Demonstrable experience in different software development languages such as Java, Python, Ruby
• Clued-up on enterprise level virtualisation (VMware, KVM)
• Experience with Linux systems (Redhat Linux) in a large-scale operations, distributed Linux production set-up
• Basic knowledge of Windows systems administration (Active Directory, Powershell) and troubleshooting, especially of event log and services 
• Experience working under Agile frameworks
• Experience working with SAFE or LESS is a plus 
• Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail 
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
• Great communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Fluent in English
