Position
Purpose of the role
We’re looking for a proven leader to act as the Head of Engineering across Asia Pac who can work alongside a talented global team, building and scaling our organization in the Asia region.
This role will bring alongside a number of existing technical teams and aim to build and scale the capabilities of core services which are critical to KidsLoop. A major part of this role is to create from scratch the Research and Development hub in Korea, the development of a far East Engineering hub and extend the hiring of an existing talented team.
You will be expected to lead a cross functional team and across multiple time zones, where you will need to interact with many global teams and leaders.
Your Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the Asia Pac engineering function (Korea, Indonesia, Russia)
- Building a culture of global engineering to enable product development and innovation
- Creation of the first Innovation team in Korea
- Day to day management of backlogs and Engineering Manager and leads
- Key interface with the global Delivery and Product teams to ensure we move at pace
- Enlisting in the Global meetings with UK / India / Vietnam to ensure Global alignment
- Develop a road map for the various delivery teams in Asia Pac
- Work hand in glove with Global Product and Global Delivery teams
- Be People first and solution first
- Be detail oriented, pragmatic
Required Qualifications
- Computer Science Degree or any other related field
- Experience working in a scaling and fast moving business
- Experience of building teams with one or more of the following; Golang or Rust
- Strong cloud experience with AWS
- Excellent knowledge of methods and techniques for structured reviews, including reviews of non-functional requirements, technical documents, test plans, business cases and other key deliverables
- Proven experience working in a regulated environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical documentation skills and mindset
Compensation and benefits
- Relocation to Korea is preferred (Relocation Bonus, Housing Loan, Work visa permit)
