Position

As a senior product designer, you are responsible for representing the end user/s throughout the product delivery lifecycle. By partnering with product and engineering, you will be expected to define and own the product strategy, vision and guiding principles, and deliver on committed objectives. You will play a key role in continuous discovery and ensuring that the investments we make are most impactful for our users and our business. As a senior in the team, you will possess a natural inclination towards leadership and continuous improvement of the design team.

Responsibilities:

• Partnering with product and engineering managers to frame problems, create clarity and lead teams in the face of complexity and ambiguity
• Carrying out both qualitative and quantitative discovery, and using insights to inform decision making process
• Partnering with product managers to drive the practice of hypothesis-driven development
• Advocating for product design excellence by taking a principled approach to design, focussing on crafted execution and an evidence-based methodology
• Having the ability to create understanding within cross-functional teams and leverage the variety of expertise within your team
• Participating and facilitating strategic product discussions and workshops within cross-functional teams
• Fostering an environment for delivering design excellence and measurable product impact, by encouraging fellow designers to raise the bar and set new standards
• Giving and seeking feedback to improve individual, team and company performance
• Working with fellow designers and front end developers to bring Unbabel’s design system to life, and participate by curating and continuously improving

Your qualification

• 5+ years experience as a product designer
• Strong eye for visual design and intrinsic appreciation for crafting delightful experiences
• Metric-driven mindset, working towards strategic product objectives
• Solid understanding of usability heuristics & design principles (balance, hierarchy, harmony, contrast, emphasis, repetition, pattern, rhythm, motion)
• Deliver wireframes, flow maps, information architecture, lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes and implementation-ready designs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diligent, autonomous, can-do attitude
• Expert command of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Abstract, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, whiteboard, pen and paper
• Passionate about language, artificial intelligence and behavioural psychology
• Clear verbal and written communication, including UX writing
• Excellent command of English (C1 level as a minimum)
