Position

Unbabel is looking for a full-time experienced project manager to help us coordinate and manage our contributions to Portuguese, European and International R&D projects.

We are executing these projects in collaboration with our industrial and academic partners, including Carnegie Mellon University, University of Edinburgh, CrossLang and others.

Our R&D team is an interdisciplinary group of highly-qualified researchers, software engineers and product managers from diverse backgrounds ranging from consumer markets to applied linguistics.

You'll help create understanding by...

• Coordinate and drive the technical reporting, planning, and execution of multiple projects, including implementation of R&D tasks, project milestones, outcomes and deliverables, in close collaboration with the other partners, and based on the funding program guidelines and requirements (ANI Balcão 2020, H2020, Connecting European Facilities, CMU-Portugal, etc.)
• Produce project documentation, update the project handbook, meeting minutes, and regular reports
• Assist in monitoring and managing the budget, expenses, reports, and accountability of the project (in coordination with the finance department)
• Prepare required reports for ANI, the EU Commission and other funding organizations, including collecting the results and outcomes of the project and communicating these in the form of dissemination activities, publications, events and other impactful forums
• Coordinate the communication between the funding organizations and Unbabel
• Coordinate and plan project workshops and other dissemination activities in conjunction with the other project partners
• Update the project web, control and feed blog entries, update information, and publications in the Unbabel AI repository and other media (in coordination with the Marketing department)

Your qualification

• Sound scientific background
• 1+ years of experience working as a Project Manager in the technology sector, preferably in national (e.g. ANI, Portugal2020), European (H2020, CEF), or other public funding projects
• Written and spoken Portuguese and English proficiency
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• High standard of creative organization & problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience of performing well under pressure
• Ability to work effectively with dynamic and diverse staff
