We provide a simple and clear payment API, which enables webshop and app builders to implement more than ten different payment methods in one go.
In the first few years of existence, Mollie was a developer-only adventure, and about 15 years later devs and techs still comprise roughly 30% of all staff. As a natural consequence, Mollie still is—and aims to remain—highly tech-minded. We take a developers-first approach to our products and internal development strategy, something that both our customers and our developers appreciate.
This focus on the technical side can be found in various things. For example, you pick whatever tools you want to use to get the job done. MacBooks, absurdly large screens, top-notch noise-canceling headphones, and whatever other equipment makes your nerd-boat float. We go to great lengths to create a space that allows you to focus on the things that will make you happy: shipping great features you helped dream up and build.
As a UI Engineer at Mollie, you’ll be responsible for bringing a next-level user experience to all of our front-facing products. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of designers, full-stack engineers, as well as backend engineers to constantly improve the look and feel of our products.
What you'll be doing:
With multiple payments being performed on our platform every second of the day, code quality and system scalability are becoming increasingly important. Helping us build scalable products by thinking ahead will be an important part of your work.
Next to our existing APIs and dashboard, we are working on innovative financial solutions for our merchants. We are happy to share the details over a coffee, but it's safe to say we will put your skills to the test allowing you to grow and learn rapidly.
Our architecture
Mollie’s frontend landscape consists of multiple apps, and each application has its own setup, which is optimized for the app’s purpose. Think of our merchant dashboard, API documentation, mobile apps, etc.
In general, our apps are written using TypeScript, in React. Our backend systems are generally written in PHP/Node, and we’re currently busy splitting up our monolithic application into multiple services, and migrating them to the Google Cloud.
We care about performance, stability, and resilience. Over the last couple of years, we’ve constantly been working on making our applications ready to handle the next phase of our growth.
We work with flexible and reusable components, have an extensive UI library that we maintain internally, and are always looking for parts of the codebase that we can open-source and share with the community.
Our selection procedure in a nutshell:
Because of the current circumstances, we will interview you as well as hire you completely remotely. You will start working remotely, but as soon as possible, you will continue your work at our office in the heart of Lisbon.
