Position

Roche is looking for an expert that would drive data technology innovation in the IT Research & Development team in Roche Global IT Solution Centre.

As Lead IT Expert in the IT R&D team, you will be responsible for developing and driving data technology research roadmaps (Data Science, Advanced Analytics, Machine and Deep Learning as example areas).

You will define research topics, build backlog, prioritize and collaborate with Roche architects and experts around the world, to make sure that the knowledge we create will be helpful in building new treatments for patients.

You will also actively participate in implementation of this research activities.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Identify strategic data technology topics for IT R&D team
• Collaborate with architects from different IT organizations globally
• Discuss upcoming business and technology challenges
• Engage internal experts by leading focus groups with your expertise
• Oversee the creation of a research backlog
• Be the key decision-maker in the initial phase of the innovation lifecycle
• Be the mentor for research teams
• Deep dive and analyse available knowledge resources (example Forester, Gartner)

Your qualification

• Work experience related to novel technologies and solutions in the following technical areas:
  • Big Data Fabric implementation, covering data lakes, data governance, self-driving data management, data orchestration, data ingestion and Information Lifecycle Management aspects
  • Experience in regards to design and implementation of cloud solutions and federated/distributed information systems
  • An additional asset would be knowledge and experience in designing and introducing modern Data Quality and Data Discovery/Exploratory systems
• Curiosity to explore and understand trending technologies and be up to date with innovative and emerging technologies
• Courage to challenge accepted practices in order to transform the way the organisation thinks about data
• Excellent communication, advanced English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills - C1
