Position

Signicat is looking for an experienced developer in one of their feature teams. Those teams are working on existing and new products in the domain of electornic IDs (eIDs), signatures solutions and other know your customer (KYC) functionality.

You will be building features from start to finish, working on the backend to build APIs and microservices that are part of the Signicat platform which today is to a large extent Java based. You will be using third-party SDKs and APIs along with your own skills and contributions in order to build and deploy applications that enable a range of identity and signature related features.

Signicat's feature teams are organized to promote agility and autonomy. Kanban and Scrum are the two methodologies we rely upon and teams have those last years evolved from entities solely consisting of developers to being more self-contained ones with their own test engineer, technical writer or interaction designer. We're gradually migrating towards devops and welcome applicants that in addition to being experienced application developers also have interest or experience with cloud native technologies and devops implementations.

Your qualification

You have several years of experience as a Java application developer — you are comfortable at the command line, you can read specifications and implement them accordingly, you understand the web as well as being comfortable writing modern server applications.

You’ve also got a knack for devops, think continuous deployment is the future and are generally speaking positive about the latest technological developments in this area because it lets you offer more to your customer faster than before.

You like programming and creating value for our customers with software. You're an eager learner, a puzzle solver and a team member appreciated by his peers.

Essential:

• You have 5+ years of experience as a developer
• You are used to working with and creating REST apis and backend systems
• You stay updated on languages, frameworks and platforms, you know what’s coming next and you like to be knowledgeable and good at what you do
• You write clean code, you test and automate as much as possible
• You have experience creating new systems as well as maintaining existing ones
• You use git, are familiar with code review (PR) processes and are used to rely on continuous integration when releasing
• You are curious and interested in both technical and functional matters 
• You are used to working in teams of 3-10
• You are used to agile development processes such as scrum or kanban
• You have a focus on security 
• You are a team player, you like helping people out and you ask for help yourself when you need it
• You are open minded and valuate collaboration and interactions between individuals and teams
• You think coding and developing software is fun

Will be a plus

• You have 3+ years of Java experience
• You are familiar with bitbucket, Jenkins, nexus, gitab and gitlab ci 
• You are knowledgeable or familliar with authentication and authorization protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect specifically)
• You know how a web browser works and what things like iframes, cookies or CORS headers are
• You have experience creating systems running in containers and orchestrators. Specifically you have experience with docker and kubernetes
• You have experience with continuous deployment and understand the responsibilities that come with deployment automation
• You have knowledge or experience with AWS, Azure or Google cloud and IaC software like terraform
