Position
About the team
You'll be joining a small technology team of 26 in Auckland within a wider team of 40 in NZ and overseas.
Brothers Nathan & Quintin Russ are the founders and the “spiritual” leaders of the team. The majority of our Engineers are staying with the company for more that 5 years sharping their technical skills through challenging tasks and complex engineering projects.
“Engineering mentality and an ability to think above and beyond” is probably the cornerstone of our company that connects our people together.
About You
We’re looking for someone who loves coding and is motivated to keep learning, and far enough along to help smart up-and-comers reach your level sooner rather than later.
You believe that no one can do this alone, and you know how to work in a team environment.
You have no problem dealing with high-pressure situations when issues arise, and after the smoke clears you’re motivated to ensure they don’t happen again.
Your qualification
Depending on your level this role can be either an Intermediate or a Senior Engineer position within our professional Development team in Auckland.
This is an opportunity to learn a variety of technologies (back-end and front-end) including Golang, C, Rust, React, cloud services, LAMP along with the infrastructure tools like Terraform, Serverless and Docker.
You will be involved in a range of projects and tasks including building new features and functionality for the company's platform, working on database development and data throughput.
Requirements:
- Strong programming skills using any languages (can be backend, front end or full stack focussed)
- The company use PHP and Rust on the backend, and React on a frontend, therefore it is highly advantageous that you have experience with these or you must be willing to use them going forward
- The team will be introducing Rust in Q3 therefore any experience with this is advantageous
- Ideally you'll have experience with some of the following: Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, AWS
- Track record of writing clean and maintainable code
