Work Responsibilities

In order to improve our product’s quality, our developers’ productivity, and the speed of delivery in the product development process, you will be drafting improvement proposals, as well as building and operating the CI/CD environment for the web and mobile versions of the Mercari marketplace app

Building the foundation for data-driven decision-making in order to improve our CI/CD environment
Building and operating the automation tools and infrastructure needed to support our product developers
Providing technical support in order to foster a healthy testing culture across the Mercari Group

Your qualification

Shared interest of Mercari’s mission and values
Extensive knowledge and development experience with software testing and test automation including feature, performance, and security testing
Experience using cloud service providers (such as Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform)
Communication skills to be able to discuss with many developers and make appropriate decisions
Following experience on either Web or Mobile area (or both):
- Web:
  - Experience developing CI/CD environments for web apps (like CircleCI or Github Actions)
  - Basic knowledge of cloud native applications and infrastructure
  - Experience using container management tools (Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm, etc.) and container runtimes (such as Docker or rkt)
- Mobile:
  - Experience developing CI/CD environments for mobile apps (like CircleCI or Github Actions)
  - Experience developing Swift based iOS or Kotlin based Android apps
  - Extensive knowledge of mobile build systems, like Gradle or Cocoapods or Bazel

Will be a plus

Experience contributing to an open-source project Following experience on either Web or Mobile area (or both): Web: Experience developing and operating systems using microservice architecture Mobile: Experience using container management tools (Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm, etc.) and container runtimes (such as Docker or rkt) Basic knowledge of cloud native applications and infrastructure

Language Requirements

English : Proficient (CEFR-C1)
Japanese : Independent (CEFR - B2) preferred

Employment Status

Full-time

Probationary period: First 3 months after joining the company (During this period your contract conditions will be the same as that of a permanent employee)

Mercari has introduced a work style policy called “Your Choice.” Each member is free to choose whether they want to work in the office or work fully remote. *Exceptions made for certain kinds of work

Work Hours

Scheduled working hours: 10 AM – 7 PM
Currently, due to COVID-19 pandemic, we have introduced a full-flex system without core time to increase the choice of working hours and allow for more flexible working styles. (*does not apply to all positions)

Two days off per week (as well as national holidays, New Year's break, etc.)

Salary

Annual salary paid in 12 monthly installments (including fixed overtime allowance)
