Work Responsibilities

• Our team is purposed with creating a platform where the developers of Mercari and other group companies (Mercari US and Merpay) can be creative and contribute to the delivery of innovative products to our user base
• Specifically, the work will be to build a microservices platform based on Kubernetes. One of thr major roles will involve being a Kubernetes Cluster Admin, as well as developing tools and/or services that can improve the developing speed of microservices. As SREs, supporting the development and operation of highly-reliable microservices with full consideration of scalability is another one of the major responsibilities. Bold Challenges

• Designing and developing microservices platform
• Designing and developing common components for microservices
• Improving security of the platform and microservices
• Improving observability of microservices
• Improving management of cloud resources by code
• Improving platform management operation (Kubernetes cluster management)
• Supporting the developers who build microservices
• Continuously improving technological issues based on the results of surveys conducted among developers

Your qualification

• Passion for improving operational automation, service reliability, and developer productivity
• Automating operations and improving service reliability
• Experience using container management platforms (Kubernetes, Mesos, and Swarm) and container runtimes (Docker and rkt)
• Tech design / proposal skills that utilize design docs
• Communication skills to discuss with many developers and carry out the appropriate decision making
• Basic programing skills

Will be a plus

• Understanding fundamental concepts of cloud native application and infrastructure
• OSS contribution experience / familiar with OSS community
• Strong programing skill using Go
• Experience with system operation based on SLA and SLO

What we offer

Employment Status

Full-time

Work Hours

• Scheduled working hours: 10 AM – 7 PM
• Currently, due to COVID-19 pandemic, we have introduced a full-flex system without core time to increase the choice of working hours and allow for more flexible working styles. (*does not apply to all positions)

• Two days off per week (as well as national holidays, New Year's break, etc.)

Salary

• Annual salary paid in 12 installments (monthly)
