Position
Our apps can’t contain bugs—with tens of millions of users, the stakes could scarcely be higher. Ensuring this is of paramount importance to our professional integrity and to our business—after all, happy users are more likely to become paying customers. That’s why we’re looking for you to perform world-class quality assurance.
A few examples of your responsibilities:
- Manually test all the functionalities of our apps to check that they work as intended on all devices and under all circumstances, spotting the most subtle of bugs
- Verify the compliance of our apps with the latest Apple guidelines
- Work closely with our software engineers and product managers to make sure all important issues are resolved
- Continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach to testing
- Read and reply to user reviews and support requests to identify recurring problems and help users have the best experience with our products
Your qualification
- Passion for the topic. You enjoy—or you’re confident you’ll enjoy, if you’re new to QA—testing software in a hunt for even the smallest unexpected behavior
- Extreme focus on the user. You put the user’s experience front-and-center in everything you do. You find supporting them and delivering flawless product performance ridiculously fulfilling
- Reasoning and depth of learning. You’re structured and creative enough to solve most problems independently, given the necessary knowledge. You learn new concepts and skills rapidly, and love to nerd out and go in-depth
- Reliability and diligence. You’re conscientious and can be trusted to take care of responsibilities big and small with unwavering precision
- Resilience. When a bug sneaks into production or an app version is declined, you dust yourself down and get back to work. Failure doesn’t discourage you. It’s not permanent, so you try again, undeterred
- Precision. You have a sharp eye for both visual and functional details, and immediately notice when something is out of place
- Conversational English. You read and write well and speak at a conversational level in English
- IT savviness. You’re a seasoned smartphone and computer user, so you quickly figure out how to use a new app. You’re at ease working with Google Docs and other online tools
- Humility. You’re eager to help and not at all picky on what tasks you’re asked to take on. You’re open to feedback and truly value the opinions of others
- Ability to relate well with others. You’ll support our users, your teammates, and other stakeholders—often when they’re at their most frustrated. Consequently, you need to be patient, kind, and amiable

The Recruiting Process
If you successfully pass through our screening process, we'll invite you to take on a few tests aimed at assessing how you think and solve (possibly unfamiliar) problems. These tests don't require any prior knowledge and they should take you a few hours to complete. Based on your results, we’ll invite you to some interviews—two or three on average—to get to know each other and figure out if it’s a good fit for both parties. There, we'll ask you some behavioral and problem-solving questions. The interviews are held remotely. To limit arbitrariness and human bias, Bending Spoons' hiring decisions are made by a hiring committee.
