Position
Bending Spoons is looking for an IT Security Engineer to join the team tasked with ensuring the solidity of our systems and protecting the data entrusted to us by millions of app users. Working side by side with skilled, passionate colleagues, you’ll help shape a security-centered culture where safety is ingrained in every tool and activity. Play your role in defining a strategy based on rules that help ensure protection, without blocking innovation and speed of delivery.
Responsibilities
- Work with engineering and across teams to assess the solidity of our software and infrastructure, and develop scalable solutions that keep operations safe and lean
- Continuously monitor, evaluate, and identify threats and vulnerabilities, escalating info so every critical decision is correctly informed
- Define a roadmap for our security strategy, improving current guidelines, defining our remediation plan and its execution
- Understand our architecture and product needs to keep Bending Spoons at the forefront of innovation within the security landscape
- Help develop the tools necessary to keep our environment secure and protected
- Advocate security best practices and stay up to date with security threats and trends
Your qualification
- Passion for the topic. You have a long-standing, proven passion for writing software, but security is your thing
- Reasoning and depth of learning. You’re structured and creative enough to solve most challenging problems independently, given the necessary knowledge. You learn new concepts and skills rapidly
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity. You have a good general understanding of the field, and you’re not scared at the idea of performing vulnerability testing or drafting a remediation plan. Vertical knowledge in information, network, and operational security is a decisive plus
- Programming skills. Our tech stack includes Google Cloud, Python, and Docker, but it’s OK if your experience is with a different tech stack as long as your coding skills are strong. Our training program will bring you up to speed in no time
- Diligence and organization. You can be entrusted with big responsibilities as well as small tasks. You’re organized and can handle multiple parallel projects without panicking
- Interpersonal skills. You love working closely with teammates and can build quality relationships with pretty much everybody
- Precision. You can only save our team’s precious time if you carry out your tasks accurately and thoroughly
- Proficient in English
