About Kreditech

Kreditech (a trading name of Kreditech Holding SSL GmbH) is a German online lender which offers loans to individuals based on their creditworthiness which is analyzed using their online data instead of using traditional credit rating information.

Kreditech's mission is to provide access to credit for people with little or no credit history: The underbanked. Mainstream financial institutions have neglected this group of customers for years due to their lack of solid credit rating. Excluded from mainstream access to credit – those customers are left either with no or only with poor credit options such as Pawn or Payday Lending. By the use of its proprietary credit decision technology, Kreditech is driven to bridge this gap and to provide access to credit at fair and sustainable conditions to the non-prime market segment.

Position

• You will be empowered to design and implement major new features in one of our product teams
• You will work closely with other departments, such as Product, Marketing and Data Science
• You will write and test code that survives at internet scale
• You will work hard to consistently make systems simpler

Your qualification

• Expertise with Scala, Java or other JVM-based languages 
• Expertise with SQL, RDBMS design and optimization
• Practical experience working with functional programming languages
• Theoretical foundations as well as practical experience designing and implementing distributed systems
• Solid theoretical background in Computer Science
• Experience working in Agile development environments, preferably following Scrum methodology
• Working knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Strong knowledge of HTTP and (REST) API design

Will be a plus

Experience in JavaScript full stack development (e.g. ReactJS and Node.js).
