AdDefend is the leading independent platform for adblock advertising, meaning the delivery of digital advertising to adblock users.

The company was founded at the end of 2015 and tackles the problem of the increasing use of advertising blockers. At least one out of five internet users can no longer be reached with digital advertising. Adblockers are responsible for approximately two-thirds of this loss, the rest is caused by firewalls and virus scanners, which also prevent the delivery of advertising. AdDefend reactivates the blocked reach with a 100 percent fill rate and an absolute planning security. That way the anti adblock solution creates significant revenue recoveries for publishers. Advertisers get the possibility to reach the highly attentive new target group of adblocker users. Contrary to broad assumptions, this target group is not per se against advertising, which can be proved by equal and partly better performances compared to the regular reach. Users also benefit from the AdDefend solution: they are no longer exposed to overfrequented and obtrusive ads and retain free access to website content without having to actively do something or pay for it.

Position

We are looking for a Video Developer (m/f) to support our team. Working directly with our CTO, you develop new tools and features for our video products.

More than 25% of online users in Germany have installed an adblocker. The use of adblockers is a threat to free digital media and plenty of jobs. Our software helps publishers and advertisers to deal with the growing number of adblocker users.

To expand and improve our video products, we are looking for you as our video player and video advertising specialist. You are controlling our technology that displays video ads (despite activated adblocker) reliably in the user’s browser while sticking to the common standards (e.g. tracking and brand safety).

Your qualification

If you:

• want to participate in the planning and implementation of new video products
• have experience with development in the video area 
• are experienced with the handling of Javascript, HTML and CSS
• have deep knowledge about HTML5 video players
• have detailed understanding of VPAID and VAST
• are experienced with video ad servers, video ad SSPs and DSPs

• Interest in NodeJS and PHP
• Linux skills, in server as well as in desktop environment
• Know-how about Docker and Git
• Fast learning ability as well as the enthusiasm to train yourself in new topics
• Good German and English skills
