ABOUT YOU is an ambitious and fast growing e-commerce start-up based in Hamburg. The heart of the work is a fashion-online shop ABOUT YOU that was launched in May 2014. Other brands of the company group include the fashion brand EDITED and the lingerie and beachwear specialist Sister Surprise. During the first year on the market, they achieved a double-digit million turnover and win half a million customers. No other e-commerce company has ever achieved that before. The goal of ABOUT YOU is to sustainably change the e-commerce market and to make fashion shopping on the Internet more inspiring and exciting for a young target group. Today around 230 people work on this ambitious goal with an average age of about 30 years, including experienced editor and fashion experts as well as tech talents.
Position
We are looking for a skilled Backend PHP Developerwith at least 2 years of Symfony hands-on experience to join one of our Tech Teams atABOUT YOU.
Our Tech Departmentis the heart of ABOUT YOU, driven by the passion to develop the best infrastructure & applications. With your skills in PHP, REST und MySQL you will work on high-scalable products on a cloud-based infrastructure and collaborate with developers, who constantly challenge themselves to raise the bar of what is “state of the art” technology.
What you will do
Work on high-scalable products withPHP7 hosted on a cloud-based infrastructure
Build andprovide internal & external RESTful APIs that ensure a fast & frictionless updating of our products
Develop multiple platforms ranging from high throughput to maximum faultlessness
Constantly challenge and expand your knowledge of reliable software architecture, programming and new technologies
Work with agile processes that are adapted to the team’sand project’s needs
Exchange your knowledge with other developers and be part of our ABOUT YOU TECH community
Your qualification
- Very good & MVP-focused coding skills inPHP of minimum 3 years
- Practical & recent experience with MVC Frameworks like Symfony,Laravel, Zend or Yii2
- Solid technical understanding of RESTful API’s
- Good background in building scalable distributed productsandpractical experience with Caching
- Previous experience with handling & querying relational databases (e.g. , MariaDB or PostgreSQL)
- Passionate about writing well-structured, efficient and maintainable code, actively keeping the quality of the code base in check
- Comfortable working in an English-speaking & agile environment
