About Tandem

Tandem is a language exchange app on iOS and Android that connects language learners with native speakers. Members can search for language exchange partners to talk to by either text or voice chat.

Position

• Build out and further refine the data and analytics layer used across all teams at Tandem (product, growth, marketing, design, engineering)
• Solve hard problems for your teammates and work closely with them to build and maintain the required tooling. Enable diverse teams with access to data and support them to get the most value out of it, by understanding their requirements, defining relevant KPIs, mapping them with existing data sources making them available to business stakeholders via self-service tools
• Work closely with engineers to further develop our data infrastructure (data pipelines, data warehouse, data visualisation)
• Proactively improve processes and identify opportunities where data analysis can enhance our understanding of the Tandem community and the learning success of our members
• Clearly communicate findings and methodology through visualization, written communication, presentations and internal tools
• Report directly to the CEO and own the data, analytics and business intelligence function

Your qualification

• Are a data generalist, with 3+ years of relevant professional experience in Data Analysis and/or Business Intelligence, ideally in the mobile consumer space
• Know how to to build and maintain data warehouses and data pipelines using state of the art technology 
• Bring a strong background and deep understanding in quantitative methods to the team
• Are proficient in data languages. Advanced SQL-Skills are a must-have, Python and/or R very nice to have
• Have first-hand experience with cloud databases like Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift or Snowflake
• Are familiar with the mobile app and marketing ecosystem, for example attribution, performance, event tracking and behavioural analytics, user segmentation, subscriptions and payment analytics
• Are an excellent communicator with strong oral and written communication skills in English, and  comfortable to communicate data logic to non-experts
