Position

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Operability & Reliability team and to support, guide, and inspire a team of software and systems engineers within our Platform Engineering organization. We build an integrated suite of critical infrastructure products that provide tooling and expertise that empower our engineers to develop, build and run scalable, reliable products our customers love. We have multiple teams developing this seamless experience in AWS cloud.These products include container platforms, developer experience tools, and observability services that help our engineers gain insight into their systems.

How your role will look like:

• Solve challenging problems in a distributed system serving millions of customers
• Guide your team to gain an in-depth understanding of the domain and deliver valuable services that are secure, reliable, and cost-efficient
• Lead and participate in cross-functional technical design discussions
• Team-up with your recruitment colleagues to recruit engineering talent
• Apply product development thinking when developing the tools and services of your team
• Be a mentor and share your knowledge in blog posts and at meetups and conferences
• Support and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment in which your team can thrive

Your qualification

• In-depth knowledge of at least one leading cloud provider Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform) and their services and APIs
• Experience with observability and reliability services such as metrics, logging, tracing, SLOs and alerting
• Experience with Go or Typescript
• Passion for API design and building maintainable systems
• Confident presentation and strong influence skills - able to adapt level and style to the audience
• Understanding of core distributed systems concepts, such as fault-tolerance, consistency, and distributed rate-limiting
• Empathy for developers; a passion for internal platforms as a service to help organizations scale and maximize efficiency and simplicity
• Previous experience working on observability/reliability platform. Nice to have
• Previous experience with Elasticsearch and Kibana. Nice to have
• Previous experience with AWS CDK. Nice to have
