Position

We are looking for a lead engineer to join our Objects & Listings team that is making a huge step in switching the strategy and paradigm from listing driven business to an object and transaction based one. You and your team are responsible for providing a central object platform that enables identifying, collecting, enriching, and providing unique real estate objects across our eco-system. You are collaborating closely with multiple product teams in different domains to integrate your services for a joint solution that focuses on customer benefits.

How your role will look like:

• You will work closely with our product managers and tech leadership to drive innovative and intelligent user focused solutions across the Scout24 digital real estate ecosystem
• You will act as the voice of your team and be the primary point of contact for initiatives across departments and tech streams
• You will carefully consider and introduce new frameworks, languages, tools to achieve desired outcome
• You will consistently look at ways to improve our technology and processes by leveraging current trends in software design, architecture, and web services
• You will collaborate with teams across Scout24 and ensure best practices about authentication and API access management are followed
• You will own and prioritise the technical items in your team’s backlog

Your qualification

• You passionately believe in and advocate clean code, pair programming, continuous delivery, and TDD
• You are a hands-on developer and have solid experience in backend development preferably in a JVM based language – we use Kotlin & Java
• You are interested to work on frontend technologies based on the needs
• You have experience working on cloud technologies – we use AWS
• You have excellent communication skills and explaining complex technical work to a non-tech audience sounds like a cake walk to you
• You enjoy to mentor and nurture software engineers in your team
• You get brownie points for any past experience in the real estate domain, but it is not a must have
