As an Engineering manager you will lead and empower a team of 3-6 engineers to build user-focused and intensively tested products. We believe that strong people managers are a core pillar to achieving company objectives. While we don’t see Engineering Managers as the ultimate career evolution for every Software Engineer (read more about that here), we do ask our managers to stay technical to be able to participate in activities like code reviews.
We have around 250 people across our technology centres in Berlin, Paris, and Nantes; 120 of them are software engineers, organized in features teams (mini-startups) with 5 - 6 members. That might sound like a lot, but we keep everyone connected through recurring events like Tech Time.
We deploy 3 times a day and we are backed with 25K+ tests here.
We primarily work with React on the frontend and Ruby on the backend, hosted in a monolithic repository, but we don’t need you to be an expert in any specific technology. We believe strong engineering is about the mindset, and technology is just a tool. And of course you’ll also find some TypeScript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, ReactiveX and ElasticSearch in our ecosystem as well.
Your mission
You will be a people manager who is hands-on to facilitate and support the team daily on technical decisions. As a member of the broader engineering leadership organization you’ll also be involved in cross-functional initiatives that level up the way that we do engineering as a company.
