Our Tech department is the driving force behind one of the most successful start-ups in Europe since 2012. Based in Berlin, we have an innovative and driven team that is using cutting-edge technologies to redefine the used car market.

Experience the company from end-to-end and build products with highly complex business logic with a direct impact on company profits. As a Senior Team Lead Java Engineer, you will assist in defining new objectives to determine the success of our operations.

Your new role

• Architecture, solution design, development, quality assurance, shipping, monitoring, and maintenance are all done by us in our service-oriented platform with currently 600+ RESTful microservices. As a senior team lead you and your teams own a subset of our applications and services
• Create, lead and direct a vision and have a crucial impact on our architecture, in close collaboration with your director and CTO
• Take responsibility for the growth and development of your teams and help everyone around you to get better every day, you give them sound, thoughtful advice that is not self-interested and which reflects an understanding of the strengths, skills, and aspirations of team members
• Hire world-class talent, and lead by example and mentor those around you to push boundaries and excel
• Develop, modify and execute company policies that affect immediate operations that may also have company-wide effect

Your qualification

• You have at least 7 years of experience in leading a group of developers and taking responsibility for a team and software
• You have 5+ years of professional experience in Java programming
• A history of designing and developing applications, supported by testimonials in engineering leadership
• Lead by example, understand your team, and mentor others to reach their full potential
• You know how to set standards for performance and delivery in your group, your expertise and stress resilience are an asset to the fulfillment of each tight commitment of your teams
