Position

Qualcomm is looking to hire several Design Engineers in the Espoo office and are keen to consider candidates at all levels.

Qualcomm RFFE Business Unit enables the delivery of RF front-end modules in fully integrated systems for mobile devices and other fast-growing business segments, such as IoT, drones, robotics, automotive applications and more.

In this role, you will work in Qualcomm's RFFE BU working on advanced front-end modules for cellular/wireless applications. The position offers the opportunity to design advanced RF Front-End Modules to ensure design success and market leadership. Qualcomm solutions include highly customized LNAs, PAs, FEMs, antenna tuner and multi-throw switches in standalone and module packages for 5G and 4G wireless cell phone and ultra-mobile devices.

The Filter Design Engineer will deliver Front-End filter designs in a fast-paced environment and will work closely with Module Design Engineers, Product Engineers, and other Filter Design Engineers to co-develop filters that operate in the LTE and 5G RF systems. Design responsibilities include linear and non-linear circuit simulations and optimization; electromagnetic parasitic evaluation; linear and non-linear device characterization; customer application support; and continuous improvement of the design flow.

Your qualification

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Wireless Communications or related field
• RF Hardware design, verification, or related work experience
• Familiar with micro-acoustic components, such as SAW and BAW RF filters 
• In-depth understanding of RFFE/RFIC circuit design, Design tools and simulators, (AWR, ADS, HFSS, Cadence and similar tools) layout design, functional verification methodologies and Characterizations

Education:

• B.Sc.EE 3+ years of experience
• M.Sc.EE or PhD

Will be a plus

• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Wireless Communications or related field 
• 3+ years RF Hardware design, verification, or related work experience (8+ years for Senior Design Engineer)
• Familiar with micro-acoustic components, such as SAW and BAW RF filters
• Expert user of full wave EM field solvers (such as HFSS)
• Understanding of micro-electronic / micro-acoustic fabrication, testing, and high-volume manufacturing
• In-depth understanding of RFFE/RFIC circuit design, Design tools and simulators, (ADS, AWR, HFSS, Cadence and similar tools) layout design, functional verification methodologies and Characterizations
• Being able to derive block and system level requirement to meet standard requirements
• Experience with Front-End RF block design used in RF Modules 
• Knowledge of Wireless Connectivity Technologies
