Position
Our hiring partner, based in Toronto, is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future of retail is local.
Using the power of technology and data to connect a growing community of over 150,000 brands and independent retailers around the world and by empowering entrepreneurs with the right tools and insights, they are trying to level the playing field so that small businesses can compete with big-box and e-commerce giants.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Developer to join their team.
Role Description:
Their engineering team owns the code that makes their marketplace intuitive and beautiful. They care about stunning design, great UX, and good engineering practices -- they love to write software that is secure, tested, easy to maintain, responsive, and performant. They build minimum viable products, deploy to production multiple times per day, A/B test customer-facing changes, listen to the data, and iterate.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver core customer-facing features of the website
- Work closely with the product team to create a delightful user experience
- Work closely with the backend team to design APIs
- Share ownership of the product and the customer's happiness
- Write unit and integration tests for everything
Your qualification
- You have 5+ years of deep industry experience
- The company is language-agnostic, but strong nice-to-haves are JavaScript, TypeScript, React and Redux
- A passion for programming and solving problems with code
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- A love for technology, and an insatiable curiosity for new tools to solve real problems
- Nice-to-have: experience with product-focused companies
