Position

Responding to Group approved development requests; the Senior Software Developer will contribute to the creation of applications in a fast-paced working environment, focusing on server side, robust and scalable components to serve multiple platforms for mobile and web applications.

Responsibilities

• Attend project kick-off, design and review meetings
• Creative design and architect of scalable backend software components to serve frontend applications across multiple platforms
• Employ best-in-breed software design patterns to support high concurrent number of clients
• Interface and coordinate with team members, including Project/Product management, Creative/Design, QA and technology
• Write clean, documented, reusable, and scalable code for deployment on unix servers 
• Maintain a coding skill set consistent with current and upcoming client platform capabilities, sharing knowledge as applicable
• Work at both detailed and abstract levels, solving problems creatively
• Be highly productive, creative and motivated

Your qualification

• At least 7 years programming server side for applications
• Proven experience in Java server development
• Proven experience of end-to-end product development from conceptualisation through to successful launch of an application
• Proven ability to deliver large-scale applications
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management/project management skills
• Strong understanding of the latest features and development best practices 
• Proven experience implementing OOP and software design patterns
• High ability to work independently and as part of a team

Will be a plus

• Experience with AMQP, Netty, GIT, Mahout
• Experience working under Agile principles
