Position

At Cube Dev we are building a technology stack for modern analytics. If you are fascinated by the software that powers large technology companies but want the challenges and freedom that come with working in a small startup, then the job at Cube Dev is for you.

We are a small and dedicated team in San Francisco, funded by top-tier SV investors, working on making advanced analytics infrastructure developed at large tech companies accessible to all developers around the world.

We are focused on bottom-up adoption, and most of our software is open-source. Thousands of developers are using Cube.js to build analytics applications and we want to help them be successful.

What you'll be working on:

Cube Cloud is our commercial SaaS platform based on Cube.js, an open-source project. We continuously improve the platform to attract more app developers. We need someone to help us enhance the many different workflows on this platform, such as team collaboration on the data schema, onboarding new users, tracing query requests, and fine-tuning the performance of Cube.js' caching layer.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate tightly on product UI/UX solutions with the engineering team
• Collaborate on a component-based design system (Figma & React)
• Conduct design review for new features and components
• Conduct user research to support your design decisions
• Work with a remote team headquartered in San Francisco

Your qualification

• 5+ years of professional experience designing interactive applications and workflows
• Engineering background with 2+ years of experience or other proof of technical knowledge
• Excellent visual, UI/UX, and interaction design skills (we primarily use Figma)
• Experience with complex workflows and interfaces with multiple states, dense layouts, and collaboration features
• Ability to clearly communicate design process, decisions, and tradeoffs
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills
• Fluent English
• Experience working at startups or interest in working in a small, fast-moving company

Will be a plus

• Experience designing for technical users, particularly app developers
• Experience with CSS, Javascript, and React
• Solo-handled projects in the portfolio. (UI/UX part)
