About Competera

Competera is a family of pricing and inventory products for Retailers to drive sales, margin and business results.

We collect millions of product data points in real time from any chosen website and visualise them to help Category and Pricing Managers to make immediate, profitable decisions and set optimal prices.

Position

Competera is about to bring a few new products to life. Our R&D squad is eager to boost the Python expertise and for this purpose we are ready to invite strong and talented Python engineers to join the team.

We run several internal products with Python as the main technology utilized and slight stack variations though they are interchangeable to some extent.

1. Developing web applications with Python/Django and Celery where there will be a lot of interactions with databases and caching. This part of the product is aimed for highload and scalability. Here is the required experience we seek:

• Python/Django and Celery
• PostgreSQL or other SQL based databases
• Elasticsearch and full-text search approach
• RESTful APIs
• Redis and common caching patterns, message brokers and data pipelines (Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Highload applications

2. Developing Python data pipelines and microservices for Bigdata & Algorithms related products. Cloud storage services are also used here. You will a strong understanding of using:

• Redis and common caching patterns, message brokers and data pipelines (Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• PostgreSQL or other SQL based databases
• Bigquery/Redshift/Snowflake
• RESTful APIs
• ETL pipelines
• Pandas
• Amazon or Google Cloud services

3. Continuous website and web applications vulnerability assessment which combines the opportunity for Python developer as well as Security analyst. Also there is room for cloud web-scraping infrastructure improvement. Your technology stacks is going to be the next:

• Asynchronous services with Python
• Javascript including in-browser debugging
• Experience with headless browsers
• Strong background in TCP/IP stack, web applications architecture, encryption fundamentals and OWASP Top 10

• We are constantly working on strong Python coding & debugging skills
• Our engineering team believes in software engineering as a universal tool that’s why we obtain the ability to work in the fullstack and feel comfortable switching between front and back-end
• We encourage OOP principles and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Big-data related tools are also of interest to us. Thus your knowledge here is greatly welcomed (Probabilistic data structures, Experience with high-loaded applications, Apache Spark etc.)
