Position

You are a devops specialist, fascinated by tech stacks and not afraid of process-management or DevOps tasks.

What you move?

As a part of an agile DevOps team you implement, maintain and operate E2E network monitoring solutions. You maintain and operate our Cloud-based Network Monitoring System. This proactively enables quality and reliability of our enterprise network services. Together with your team mates, you will optimize our CICD, our test automation and develop features like Managed Monitoring and Reporting. You will as well work on architecture and Cloud Transformation topics as well as security topics. The network team will develop best network engineering practices to proactively improve quality and reliability of network services, while supporting the transformation with scalable, automated and resilient cloud networks. Together with your team mates, you will perform discovery and documentation of underlying networks of existing overlay applications/services by collaborating with the Cloud Transformation, Security and Mission 100 teams in TDE and define secure, reliable, transparent network migration patterns & solutions for cloud transformation. You will, as well, collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Network HBU teams to refine & apply architecture & engineering rules of target networks from design, capacity, performance and monitoring perspectives to ensure high-quality network services for Cloud Transformation success. We, as a team, will serve as the center of expertise in network engineering area in DOS and become the crucial link between DOS and other Network teams in Swisscom.

Your qualification

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent working experience
• Profound experience in router and firewall monitoring via SNMP, REST APIs and Syslog
• In depth hands-on experience with alert management using network monitoring software like Zabbix and Opsgenie
• Profound experience with the installing , operating and troubleshooting the Zabbix monitoring system
• Profound experience with monitoring networks with Zabbix
• In depth hands-on experience with implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (ideally Jenkins)
• Excellent knowledge in Python scripting
• Hands-on experience in Cloud and virtualization (OpenStack, AWS)
• Excellent knowledge in Linux and System Engineering
• Basic knowledge in KAFKA is a plus

• Willingness to get your hands dirty, perform manual testing and automate repetitive task

• Fluent communication skills in English is mandatory (conversational in German would be a plus)
